The1998 Georgia lieutenant gubernatorial election was held on November 3, 1998, to elect thelieutenant governor of Georgia, concurrently with the1998 gubernatorial election, as well aselections to theUnited States Senate andelections to theUnited States House of Representatives and variousstate andlocal elections. Georgia is one of 21 states that elects itslieutenant governor separately from itsgovernor.

IncumbentDemocratic lieutenant governorPierre Howard chose to not run for re-election in order to run for governor[1] but later dropped out of the race.[2]Mark Taylor defeatedRepublican nomineeMitch Skandalakis.
