Golf tour season
The1997 European Tour , titled as the1997 PGA European Tour ,[ 1] was the 26th season of theEuropean Tour , the mainprofessional golf tour in Europe since its inaugural season in 1972.
There were several changes from the previous season, with the addition of theSouth African Open , which replaced theFNB Players Championship , and the loss of theCatalan Open , theAustrian Open and theScottish Open , which was effectively superseded by theLoch Lomond World Invitational .
