The1997 European Tour, titled as the1997 PGA European Tour,[1] was the 26th season of theEuropean Tour, the mainprofessional golf tour in Europe since its inaugural season in 1972.

Changes for 1997

There were several changes from the previous season, with the addition of theSouth African Open, which replaced theFNB Players Championship, and the loss of theCatalan Open, theAustrian Open and theScottish Open, which was effectively superseded by theLoch Lomond World Invitational.
