NHL hockey team season
The1986–87 New York Rangers season was the franchise's61st season.[ 1] During the regular season, the Rangers finished in fourth place in thePatrick Division with 76points , which allowed them to qualify for the NHL playoffs. However, New York was eliminated in the first round of the playoffs by thePhiladelphia Flyers .[ 2]
