Led by fourth-year head coachMilt Bruhn, the Badgers compiled an overall record of 7–3 with a mark of 5–2 in conference play, winning the Big Ten title. Wisconsin lost to underdogWashington in theRose Bowl onNew Year's Day. The Badgers finished the season ranked sixth in both major polls.[1][2]
