In the race forlieutenant governor, DemocratRobert F. Murphy defeated RepublicanCharles Gibbons, Prohibition candidate Harold E. Bassett, and Socialist Labor candidate Francis A. Votano.
Lt. Governor Whittier was unopposed in the Republican primary.
