Maine overwhelmingly voted for theRepublican nominee,GeneralDwight D. Eisenhower ofNew York, over theDemocratic nominee, formerGovernorAdlai Stevenson ofIllinois. Eisenhower ran withSenatorRichard Nixon ofCalifornia, while Stevenson's running mate wasSenatorJohn Sparkman ofAlabama.
Eisenhower won Maine by a margin of 32.28%.
