The1948 United States presidential election in South Dakota took place on November 2, 1948, as part of the1948 United States presidential election. Voters chose four[1] representatives, or electors, to theElectoral College, who voted forpresident andvice president.

South Dakota was won byGovernorThomas E. Dewey (RNew York), running withGovernorEarl Warren, with 51.84% of the popular vote, againstincumbent PresidentHarry S. Truman (DMissouri), running withSenatorAlben W. Barkley, with 47.04% of the popular vote.[2][3]
