The1942 Southwestern Louisiana Bulldogs football team was anAmerican football team that represented the Southwestern Louisiana Institute of Liberal and Technical Learning (now known as theUniversity of Louisiana at Lafayette) in theLouisiana Intercollegiate Conference during the1942 college football season. In their first year under head coachLouis Whitman, the team compiled a 3–4 record.[1][2]

Southwestern Louisiana was ranked at No. 153 (out of 590 college and military teams) in the final rankings under theLitkenhous Difference by Score System for 1942.[3]
