The1912 United States presidential election in Wyoming took place on November 5, 1912, as part of the1912 United States presidential election. State voters chose three representatives, or electors, to theElectoral College, who voted forpresident andvice president.
Wyoming was won byPrinceton University PresidentWoodrow Wilson (D–Virginia), running withgovernor of IndianaThomas R. Marshall, with 36.20 percent of the popular vote, against the27th president of the United StatesWilliam Howard Taft (R–Ohio), running withColumbia University PresidentNicholas Murray Butler, with 34.42 percent of the popular vote, the26th president of the United StatesTheodore Roosevelt (P–New York), running withgovernor of CaliforniaHiram Johnson, with 21.83 percent of the popular vote and thefive-time candidate of theSocialist Party of America forPresident of the United StatesEugene V. Debs (S–Indiana), running with the firstSocialist mayor of a major city in theUnited StatesEmil Seidel, with 6.53 percent of the popular vote.[1]
Despite having a member of the Progressive Party (Joseph M. Carey) as thegovernor of the state, Theodore Roosevelt came in third and Wyoming was one of the areas Roosevelt received lower levels of support.
