The1876 United States presidential election in Minnesota took place on November 7, 1876, as part of the1876 United States presidential election. Voters chose five representatives, or electors to theElectoral College, who voted forpresident andvice president.
Minnesota voted for theRepublican nominee,Rutherford B. Hayes, over theDemocratic nominee,Samuel J. Tilden. Hayes won the state by a margin of 19.64%.
With 58.80% of the popular vote, Minnesota was Hayes' fifth strongest victory by percentage of the popular vote, afterVermont,Nebraska,Kansas andRhode Island.[1]
