The1865Mississippi gubernatorial election was held on October 2, 1865, to elect thegovernor of Mississippi.Benjamin Humphreys won againstEphraim S. Fisher andWilliam S. Patton. The election was officially nonpartisan to replace the outgoing Provisional GovernorWilliam Sharkey, though Humphreys was aDemocrat and Fisher and Patton were both formerlyWhigs.[1]
