Apresidential election was held inIndiana on November 30, 1820, as part of the1820 United States presidential election. TheDemocratic-Republican ticket of the incumbentpresidentJames Monroe andvice presidentDaniel D. Tompkins received three votes fromelectors chosen by theIndiana General Assembly.[1] Monroe easily won the national election with 231 electoral votes; onefaithless elector voted for theU.S. secretary of stateJohn Quincy Adams.[2]
