Star in the constellation Triangulum
10 Trianguli (HD 14252; HR 675; 1 H. Trianguli Minus ), or simply10 Tri is a solitarystar [ 17] located in the northernconstellation Triangulum . It is faintly visible to thenaked eye as a white-hued point of light with anapparent magnitude of 5.29.[ 2] Gaia DR3 parallax measurements imply a distance of 363light-years [ 1] and it is slowly receding with a heliocentricradial velocity of 0.4 km/s .[ 7] At its current distance, 10 Tri's brightness is diminished by aninterstellar extinction of 0.11magnitudes [ 18] and it has anabsolute magnitude of −0.02.[ 8]
10 Trianguli has astellar classification of A2 V,[ 4] [ 5] indicating that it is an ordinaryA-type main-sequence star that is generating energy viahydrogen fusion at itscore . It has 2.83 times themass of the Sun [ 3] and a slightly enlargedradius 3.71 times that of theSun .[ 9] It radiates 108 times theluminosity of the Sun [ 3] from itsphotosphere at aneffective temperature of 9,023 K .[ 11] 10 Trianguli is rather evolved for its class, having completed 92.5% of itsmain sequence lifetime[ 3] at the age of 372million years .[ 14] [ 15] It is metal enriched with aniron abundance of [Fe/H] = +0.33 or % of the Sun's[ 12] and unlike most hot stars, it spins modestly with aprojected rotational velocity of 22 km/s .[ 13]
10 Trianguli has a 13th magnitude companion located 58.3" away along aposition angle of 205°.[ 19] It is an unrelated background star that is much more distant than 10 Trianguli.[ 20] Together withι Trianguli and12 Trianguli , it forms part of the obsoleteTriangulum Minus .
It was once designateda Trianguli byJohn Flamsteed and was included in his Atlas Coelestis, but the designation is now dropped.[ 21]
