Île-de-Lamèque (French pronunciation:[ildəlamɛk],transl. Lamèque Island) is atown in theCanadian province ofNew Brunswick. It was formed through the2023 New Brunswick local governance reforms.
Île-de-Lamèque was incorporated on January 1, 2023 via the amalgamation of the former town ofLamèque and the former village ofSainte-Marie-Saint-Raphaël as well as the concurrent annexation of adjacent unincorporated areas.[1]
Île-de-Lamèque's economy is tied to thefishing andpeat industries.
