For mass heroism and courage,fortitude and bravery shown by the regiment’s personnel in combat operations to protect the Fatherland and state interests in armed conflicts, the President resolvedto award the honorary Guards designation to the 8th Artillery Regiment. From now on, it shall be referred to as the 8thGuards Artillery Regiment.
