WEYMOUTH manager Warren Feeney says the team need to 'go and win the game' when the face Truro City tonight.

The Terras sealed their second home win of the campaign with a dominant 4-1 win over Aveley on Saturday.

Goals from Mal Linton, Jake McCarthy, Brandon Goodship and Brooklyn Genesini sealed the win and a vital three points as Feeney's side attempt to stave off relegation from the National League South.

Speaking to the Terras X account, the Northern Irishman was frank with the assessment that his team need wins.

He said: "We have to go and win the game. I think at this point we have to at the end of the day.

"That should give them confidence (the win over Aveley) but it's going to be a tough game.

"John's (Askey) got a very good side, well backed and obviously I lived down that direction when I was at Plymouth for four years so it is going to be a tough, tough game.

"But as I have said all we can do is worry about us."

Tonight's opponents will be keen to seal three points themselves though with promotion in their sights.

Sitting fifth in the league and just six points off league leaders Dorking Wanderers with two games in hand, the Cornish club will not want to drop points.

Victory for Weymouth could lift them off the bottom of the table for the first time in a while, as long as Aveley fail to win over fellow relegation rivals St Albans.

Defeats for Enfield Town and Welling United could also mean that Weymouth close the gap to safety to just seven points.

Kick off at the Truro Sports Hub is at 7.45pm on Tuesday, February 25.
