Abstract

The dependence of lidar return signals on the aperture size of thefield stop is examined. Observational results are presented forboth Newtonian and Cassegrainian telescopes. Analytic expressionsare derived for the lidar geometric form factors, in satisfactoryagreement with the experiments.
