- get or set schedpolicy attribute
cc –mt [flag... ]file... –lpthread [library... ]#include <pthread.h>intpthread_attr_getschedpolicy(const pthread_attr_t *restrictattr,int *restrictpolicy);
intpthread_attr_setschedpolicy(pthread_attr_t *attr,intpolicy);
The functionspthread_attr_setschedpolicy() andpthread_attr_getschedpolicy(), respectively, set and get theschedpolicy attributein theattr argument.
Supported values ofpolicy includeSCHED_FIFO,SCHED_RR andSCHED_OTHER, whichare defined by the header<sched.h>. When threads executing with the schedulingpolicySCHED_FIFO orSCHED_RR are waiting on a mutex, they acquirethe mutex in priority order when the mutex is unlocked.
Seesched.h(3HEAD) for a description of all defined policy values. Validpolicy values can also be obtained frompthread_getschedparam(3C) andsched_getscheduler(3C).
If successful, thepthread_attr_setschedpolicy() andpthread_attr_getschedpolicy() functions return0. Otherwise, anerror number is returned to indicate the error.
Thepthread_attr_setschedpolicy() orpthread_attr_getschedpolicy() function may fail if:
attr orpolicy is invalid.
After these attributes have been set, a thread can be created withthe specified attributes usingpthread_create(). Using these routines does not affect thecurrent running thread.
