- network configuration management daemon
/lib/inet/netcfgd
netcfgd is a system daemon to manage network configuration. This daemon isstarted automatically by svc:/network/netcfg:default and should not be invoked directly. It doesnot constitute a programming interface.
netcfgd manages access to a network configuration repository, insuring that readers andwriters have the appropriate authorizations. Specifically, an application wishing to read networkconfiguration must have thesolaris.network.autoconf.read authorization; while an application wishing to write networkconfiguration must have thesolaris.network.autoconf.write authorization. These authorizations are registered inauth_attr(4),and are included in theNetwork Autoconf profile found inprof_attr(4).
