Who is
Delfeayo?
Delfeayo is, in many ways, the most fun of the Marsalises. He's the family trombonist. And record producer.
And he seems to be the family wise guy too.

SHADOW/LAND, a harrowing audio drama of a mother and daughter dealing with selling their family hotel while Hurricane Katrina comes to their front door featuring music written and recorded by Delfeayo Marsalis.
Following every jazz performance in our series each year we gauge the success by the amount of requests from our loyal subscribers to bring the artist or artists back. When Delfeayo and the Uptown Jazz Orchestra left the stage and the audience began exiting the amphitheater, I received more requests for their return than I had ever received before. They are exuberant and profoundly talented musicians who bring true joy to an audience.
...Both Delfeayo Marsalis’ New Orleans-based Uptown Jazz Orchestra’s cd releases… rank among the strongest big band discs of the past 10 years.
UJO...one of the top 10 best shows in our entire 23 year history. We were so impressed with their performance this year that they will return for our 25th anniversary season next year!
Seeing this moved me to tears; all of them playing their hearts out, finding a way to play together and bring this music to us
Delfeayo Marsalis is a merchant of joy!
Nothing like that New Orleans sound moving in your spirit. Y'all did that. Thank You for bringing me to the Lundi Gras!
Y'all liftin' our spirits in these dark days! Thanks so much!
