Judy Kuhn is an American singer and actress, known for her work in musical theater. ForDisney, she provided the singing voice ofPocahontas in the1995Disneyanimated feature film of the same name, its1998sequel, and the shortOnce Upon a Studio. She also provided the singing voice ofPrincess Ting Ting in the2006 filmMulan II and made a cameo appearance in the2007 filmEnchanted as a pregnant woman.

Personal life[]

Kuhn was born inNew York City and grew up in Bethesda,Maryland. She attended Georgetown Day School inWashington, D.C. and entered Oberlin College in1976. Although she was very interested in singing and theater, she began Oberlin in the College, not the Conservatory. After taking voice lessons with Frank Farina during her freshman year, Kuhn decided to transfer into the conservatory. She transferred her sophomore year. Unlike other Oberlin Conservatory vocal performance majors, Kuhn was never interested in singing classical music, preferring musical theater and other types of music instead. She trained as a classical soprano and graduated in1981. After college, she moved toBoston, where she waited tables and studied acting. After appearing in summer stock, Kuhn moved toNew York where she was cast in the U.S touring production ofThe King and I with Yul Brynner.

A four-time Tony Award and two-time Olivier Award nominee, Kuhn has since gone on to perform both in Broadway and the West End productions ofThe Mystery of Edwin Drood,Les Misérables,Chess,She Loves Me,Rags,Metropolis,Sunset Boulevard,Eli's Comin,Fun Home, andFiddler on the Roof.
