"Humphrey in the House"

Synopsis[]

The episode begins withMickey welcoming everybody, only to find that the entire club is extremely dirty and full of garbage everywhere.Clarabelle explains to Mickey that theMagic Brooms are on vacation, soMinnie hired thebears from Brownstone Park to fill in for them. Outside,Ranger Giggles is explaining to the bears that they will be working for food in theHouse of Mouse, exciting all the bears. They immediately get to work, except forHumphrey who sneaks away to get some food. He is caught byGoofy andDonald (who instantly recognize him). Humphrey then tries to sneak into the kitchen, but Ranger Woodlore forces him back to work. While the bears are cleaning up the mess, Mickey puts on acartoon that he hopes the audience will grin and "bear".

Humphrey has now disguised as a penguin waiter in order to get food, but Goofy catches him and gives him more dishes to deliver to the tables. The other penguin waiters come to deliver the food. Mickey now has Flora, Fauna, and Merryweather perform a cooking routine for the audience, but Humphrey disguises himself as Merryweather. Ranger Woodlore immediately catches him and teaches him a lesson that in order for Humphrey to feed, he has to work for it. But Humphrey, still not doing what he was he told, tries to sneak a bite from Willy the Whale, but he is thrown away. The bear then builds a robot that looks like him to do his work while he tries to sneak another bite. While the bears make the place more "bearable", Mickey puts onanother cartoon.

Ranger Woodlore catches the fake Humphrey and lines up the other bears, including the real Humphrey. Performing another variation ofThe Humphrey Hop, the ranger leads the bears into cleaning up the mess alongside music, but Humphrey uses his picket to steal the audience members' dinners. An enraged Donald catches him and fights with Humphrey, making an even bigger mess. Ranger Woodlore, now very angry at Humphrey, forces him to clean it up, and Mickey tells Donald to help Humphrey. Later, the Magic Brooms return from their vacation, and the bears are given food baskets as a vote of thanks for cleaning the House of Mouse as they board the bus back to Brownstone Park, except for Humphrey, who is denied his own basket and is forced to stay behind until he has cleaned up the mess he made earlier as punishment for his misbehavior and not doing his work.
