Disney Second Screen
A new feature that was included in theBambi Diamond Blu-ray release onMarch 1,2011,Disney Second Screen was a feature accessible via a computer or iPad app download that provided additional content as the user viewed the film. Disney Second Screen synced along with the movie, and as the film played, interactive elements such as trivia, photo galleries, and animated flipbooks appeared on the iPad or computer screen. It was released in theUnited States and English-speakingCanada. It was possible to watch without the film in conjunction, albeit less features were available without the film.
In September and October2013, Disney experimented with a version of the Second Screen app for movie theaters called Second Screen Live. The only two films that had Second Screen Live versions areThe Little Mermaid andThe Nightmare Before Christmas.
