The Corrections Officer is shown to be very serious in keeping the law of theLand of the Dead in condition. He is shown to give out warnings for those who wear aFrida Kahlo costume illegally, hinting that he does not tolerate anyone who does illegal actions.
Role in the film[]
The Corrections Officer is seen talking toHéctor, who is telling him the illegal things he did when he was dressed up asFrida Kahlo, explaining that he fled an officer, falsified a unibrow, and disturbed the peace, telling him to clean up his act, which the latter explains to him that he was struggling during the Day of the Dead, telling him that he would use a friend for now (presumably referring toMiguel) who would provide backstage to meet Ernesto at the Sunrise Spectacular, explaining that he would arrest him if he would continue to impersonate Frida Kahlo, which he explains to Héctor that his shift is almost over and wants to visit his family, handing him a warning. Héctor explains to him if he can get his Frida Kahlo costume back, which the Officer replies "No". He makes no further appearances after that.

- In the Corrections Officer's room is a poster ofErnesto de la Cruz on it, implying that he might be a fan of Ernesto. However, he has not physically interacted with him.
- Additionally, it is unknown if he was aware of Ernesto being revealed to be a fraud.
