Clayton's pirates are supporting antagonists in theDisney filmTarzan. Working as a crew to the ship's captain, they were secretly hired byClayton to captureTarzan's gorilla family and take them toLondon to be sold to a zoo. The crew consists of about fourteen men (excluding the captain and his officers, who they ambush in the film's climax).
Vincent Snipes (Voiced byBob Bergen) who is possibly 37 years old was the second in command of Clayton's Men as he was told byClayton to round the rest of the men. Also the he and Butch are the only ones of Clayton's men called by name.
Butch Jones (Voiced byCorey Burton) who is possibly 44 years old was one of Clayton's Men. He was one of the two men alongside Dennis Spicer who tried to take kidnapped animals to the ship but was kicked byJane Porter after she swung by a vine. He manages to get up and tries to attack Jane but is jumped on by Tarzan, knocking him out. Butch also is seen in the Tarzen Disney's Extreme State Adventure as multiple clones and all named "Henchman" and him and Max are the only ones of Clayton's Men to have a toy in the Tarzan Disney Heroes Toys line. He and Vincent are the only ones of Clayton's Men to be called by name.
Max Braslavskij (Voiced byPhil Proctor) who is possibly 39 years old and was one of Clayton's Men. He alongside Kevin held and restrain Tarzan and he is the only one of Clayton's Men to not wear anything above his wrist. Max and Butch are the only ones of Clayton's Men to have a toy in the Tarzan Disney Heroes Toys line.
Dennis Spicer (Voiced byJim Cummings) who is possibly 61 years old and was one of Clayton's Men. He alongside Butch Jones tried to take the kidnapped animals to the ship but Butch was attacked. Then Denis is chased off by the baboons. Denis also appeared in the flashback in "Tarzan and the Trading Post".
Jonathan (Voiced byFred Tatasciore) who is possibly 41 years old and was one of Clayton's Men. He tried to fightTantor but is defeated by hitting him with his trunk.
Larry (Voiced byPaul Eiding) who is possibly 59 years old and was one of Clayton's Men. He alongside David and Sylvester were chased byTerk and they are locked in the cage and later Florentino is thrown into the cage and locked along with Larry, David and Sylvester.
Kevin (Voiced byFrank Simms) who is possibly 68 years old and was one of Clayton's Men.He and Max held and restrained Tarzan and Kevin is defeated byKerchak by hitting Kevin after trying to hit him and Tarzan with a club.
Sylvester (Voiced by the lateJack Angel) who is possibly 34 years old and was one of Clayton's Men. He, David and Larry were chased by Terk and Sylvester is the person to close the cage locking him and David and Larry. While Florentino is thrown into the cage by Tantor.
Hamilton (Voiced byCharlie Adler) who is possibly 34 years old and was one of Clayton's Men. He was one of Clayton's Men left in the ship and was kicked by Tantor after trying to attack him. Even though his defeat, Hamilton was showed as one of Clayton's Men to hunt down the jungle animals.
Peter (Voiced byBob Bergen) who is possibly 53 years old and was one of Clayton's Men. He was the first of Clayton's Men to restrain Tarzan by holding on to Tarzan's ankle before Tarzan was able to saveJane and the rest of the crew. Peter is defeated by Tarzan kicking him in his face and Peter is defeated again by Tantor after trying to swing on a rope to him.
Cornelius (Voiced byIan Redford) who is possibly 46 years old and was one of Clayton's Men. He is the only barefoot one of Clayton's Men and was one of Clayton's Men to be left in the ship and is defeated by Tantor by being hit with his trunk after trying to attack him.
Under the orders of the ship's captain, the thugs are first seen packing up the luggage and supplies ofJane Porter, her fatherArchimedes, and Clayton (much to the latter's dismay) onto the ship to return home to London. When Clayton manipulates Tarzan's feelings for Jane by telling him that she would stay in the jungle with him if he showed them gorillas, Tarzan agrees. Clayton then informs Snipes to gather the other men together for the next phase of his plan.
When Tarzan, Jane, and Archimedes board the ship the next day to return toEngland, Jane and her father are captured by the thugs (who have also ambushed the captain and his officers); after seeing this, Tarzan tries to evade them by jumping on the cages and climbing the ship's masts. Even though he almost effortlessly avoided them at first, the thugs quickly start catching up with him, with one of them grabbing him from his ankle. He shakes him off, but as they were closing in on him, he makes a huge leap from the top of the mast and manages to hold on to the funnel's end, only to fall down shortly afterward. As Tarzan crawls out of the crates' remnants, two of the thugs are quick enough to grab him and slam him against the superstructure's wall; as Tarzan is still weak and hurting after falling from such a height, he does not have enough strength to break free from the thugs' grip. When Tarzan sees Clayton, he begs for his help while trying to break free from them, but Clayton reveals to him that he tricked him into leading them to the gorillas' nests so that he and his men could capture them easily and sell them to a zoo in London.
After locking Tarzan in the ship's brig along with Jane, Archimedes, and the captain, Clayton and his men take a loading boat through a river into the jungle and capture the gorillas, netting them, forcing them into cages, and throwing the babies in burlap sacks. Tarzan's ape father,Kerchak intervenes to rescue his group but is overpowered when the thugs restrain him with whips and a net. Clayton slowly approaches Kerchak and prepares to kill him, preferring him to be stuffed before Tarzan, Jane, and Archimedes (who escape from the ship's brig withTerk andTantor's help) intervene and fight off Clayton's pirates, freeing the gorillas and putting the thugs in the cages that they used to confine the gorillas in, with some help from an army of jungle animals. The thugs are not seen after this, so their fate is unknown, but it is likely that they were put in the ship's brig and taken back to England to await trial for their crimes.
Three of Clayton's men briefly appear in the episode "Tarzan and the Trading Post" in Tarzan's flashback of them capturingKala and the gorillas whenRenard Dumont asks Tarzan on whether he's interested in buying some cages.
One of the thugs who captures Jane but is bitten by her on the ship is a caricature of former Disney animatorGlen Keane.
Multiple duplicates of the fat thug with the blue shirt and red bandana appear in the Tarzan stages of "Disney's Extreme Skate Adventure" and are all identified as "Henchman".
This thug, along with the shirtless thug, were the only thugs who had action figures made after them in the Tarzan Disney Heroes toys.
