- X-rays of hip dysplasia are one of the two main methods of medical imaging to diagnose hip dysplasia, the other one being medical ultrasonography. Ultrasound imaging yields better results defining the anatomy until the cartilage is ossified. When the infant is around 3 months old a clear roentgenographic image can be achieved. Unfortunately the time the joint gives a good x-ray image is also the point at which nonsurgical treatment methods cease to give good results. (en)
- Per la diagnosi radiologica della displasia dell'anca, la radiografia (insieme all'ecografia) è una della principali metodiche impiegate nella diagnostica per immagini. L'imaging ad ultrasuoni produce risultati migliori definendo l'anatomia fino a quando nel neonato la cartilagine non è ossificata. Quando il bambino raggiunge un'età di circa 3 mesi, è possibile ottenere un'immagine radiografica altrettanto ben definita. Sfortunatamente il momento in cui l'articolazione fornisce una buona immagine a raggi X è anche il punto in cui i metodi di trattamento non chirurgico cessano di dare buoni risultati. (it)
