El grupo interpretó en festivales de cultura judía en Hungría, Finlandia, Polonia y la República Checa. Su sonido era diferente a lo que comúnmente se considera como música tradicional klezmer — en lugar de versiones bailables de canciones en yidis tradicional, y fantasías de forma libre y lamentos, la Cracow Klezmer Band tocaba a menudo composiciones oscuras y meditabundas, pero emotivas y dinámicas, virtuosas y originales en forma de klezmer. Algunas canciones podrían considerarse piezas de baile, pero no hubo ninguno de los tradicionales búlgaros, Freylekhs u Horas. Los intérpretes de la banda también imitaban sonidos no musicales usando sus instrumentos —por ejemplo, el sonido de un barco que cruje o un pájaro que llora distante; esto en realidad tiene una larga tradición en la música klezmer. - The Cracow Klezmer Band was a Polish jazz quartet formed by accordionist and composer in 1997 in the city of Kraków, and recorded for Tzadik Records. The group performed at Jewish Culture festivals in Hungary, Finland, Poland, Prague, and the Czech Republic. Its sound was different from what most people would consider to be traditional klezmer music — instead of danceable versions of traditional Yiddish songs, and free-form fantasies, and laments, The Cracow Klezmer Band played often dark and brooding but soulful and dynamic original virtuoso compositions instead in the klezmer form. Some songs could be considered dance pieces, but there were none of the traditional Bulgars, Freylekhs or Horas. They also imitated non-musical sounds using their instruments, for example the sound of a creaking ship or a distant crying bird; this actually has a long tradition in klezmer music. In January 2007, the band changed its name to the Bester Quartet, with the same line-up. (en)

Zespół koncertował m.in. w Polsce, USA, Wielkiej Brytanii, Tajwanie, Hiszpanii, Czechach, Słowacji, Finlandii, Włoszech, Estonii, Francji, Rosji, Ukrainie, Białorusi, Serbii, Bułgarii, Węgrzech, Mołdawii, Rumunii, Szwecji, Szwajcarii, Austrii, Belgii, Holandii, Turcji, Chorwacji, Izraelu, Brazylii, Niemczech oraz Kanadzie Bester Quartet dokonał nagrań dla stacji telewizyjnych i radiowych, a także współpracował z wieloma artystami muzyki jazzowej, klezmerskiej i awangardowej, wśród których są następujący artyści: John Zorn, Tomasz Stańko, Grażyna Auguścik, John McLean, Don Byron, Frank London, Marek Moś (Aukso), Dorota Miśkiewicz, Jorgos Skolias, Aaron Alexander, Ireneusz Socha, Tomasz Ziętek i inni.
