Ronald Edsel Findlay (April 12, 1935 – October 8, 2021) was an economist and trade theorist. He was Professor of Economics at Columbia University, New York. He was born in Rangoon, Burma during British colonial rule. He has a BA from Rangoon University, Burma (1954) and a PhD from MIT (1960). He worked at Rangoon University as an economist first as a tutor (1954–57), then as a lecturer (1960–66), and finally as a research professor of (1966–68).
