Das Theatergebäude wurde 1984 eingeweiht und ist seitdem mit modernster Bühnentechnik ausgestattet. Der Friedrichstadt-Palast gehört zu Europas meistbesuchten Varieté-Bühnen und ist u. a. für seine Girlreihe berühmt. Der Begriff Friedrichstadt-Palast bezeichnet sowohl das Gebäude als auch das Revuetheater als Einrichtung mit seinem Ensemble. Der Name hat seinen Ursprung von einem unweit gelegenen, etwas mehr als einhundert Jahre als Zirkus- und Theaterbau dienenden Haus, das – geprägt von wechselvoller Geschichte – ab 1947 zum Friedrichstadt-Palast wurde. Mit seinen 1.895 Sitzplätzen ist der Palast seit 1990 der größte Theaterbau in Berlin. Das Gebäude wurde 2020 unter Denkmalschutz gestellt. (de)

Aquel recinto usado como musi-hall, varieté, circo fue convertido en emporio del espectáculo por el legendario Max Reinhardt. Levantado en el número 107 de la Friedrichstrasse en el antiguo Berlín Oriental, es obra de Ehrhardt Gisske y Manfred Prasser, su arquitecto, en su intento por producir el "Broadway del Este" en la ex Alemania Oriental. Reabrió sus puertas el 27 de abril de 1984 y es un gigantesco recinto para music-hall, patinaje sobre hielo y diversos tipos de espectáculos.
