| dbo:abstract | - Το Αμπεντκάρ Τζαγιάντι ή Μπιμ Τζαγιάντι είναι ετήσιο φεστιβάλ που λαμβάνει χώρα στις 14 Απριλίου για να τιμήσει τη μνήμη του Μ. Ρ. Αμπεντκάρ. Σηματοδοτεί τα γενέθλια του Δρ. Μπαμπασαχέμπ Β. Ρ. Αμπεντκάρ, ο οποίος γεννήθηκε στις 14 Απριλίου 1891. Από το 2015 είναι επίσημη αργία σε όλη την Ινδία. Εορτάζεται όχι μόνο στην Ινδία αλλά και σε όλο τον κόσμο. Οι λιτανείες για το φεστιβάλ πραγματοποιούνται από τους οπαδούς του στο Τσάιτγια Μπούμι στη Βομβάη και το Ντίκσα Μπούμι στη Ναγκπούρ. Συνήθως, άτομα όπως ο Πρόεδρος, ο Πρωθυπουργός και οι ηγέτες των μεγάλων πολιτικών κομμάτων, αποτίουν φόρο τιμής στο άγαλμα του Αμπεντκάρ στο Κοινοβούλιο της Ινδίας στο Νέο Δελχί. Εορτάζεται σε όλο τον κόσμο και ιδιαίτερα από τους Ντάλιτ που ασπάστηκαν τον Βουδισμό μετά από το παράδειγμά του. - Ambedkar Jayanti or Bhim Jayanti is an annual festival observed on 14 April to commemorate the memory of B. R. Ambedkar, Indian politician and civil rights activist. It marks Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar's birthday who was born on 14 April 1891. Since 2015 it has been observed as an official public holiday throughout India. Ambedkar struggled for equality throughout his life, hence his birthday is celebrated as 'Equality Day' in India, and the demand to declare this day as "International Equality Day" goes to the United Nations. Ambedkar Jayanti processions are carried out by his followers at Chaitya Bhoomi in Mumbai and Deeksha Bhoomi in Nagpur. It is a customary for senior national figures, such as the President, Prime Minister and leaders of major political parties, to pay homage at the statue of Ambedkar at the Parliament of India in New Delhi. It is celebrated throughout the world especially by dalits, adivasi, labour workers, women and also those who embraced Buddhism after his example. In India, large numbers of people visit local statues commemorating Ambedkar in procession with lot of fanfare. In 2020, the first online Ambedkar Jayanti was celebrated in the world.
