- Agnes Scott College est une université privée féminine d'arts, lettres, et sciences humaines, créée en 1889, et ainsi nommée en hommage à Agnes Irvine Scott (1799-1877). Elle est située à Decatur, près d'Atlanta, dans le Sud des États-Unis. Agnes Scott est affiliée à l'église presbytérienne américaine. À l'automne 2015, l'université comptait 915 étudiantes et le rapport numérique entre étudiantes et enseignants était de 10 pour 1. L'université offre des diplômes dans trente-quatre matières principales et trente-et-une matières secondaires. Les étudiantes reçoivent un diplôme universitaire de lettres, le Bachelor of Arts. La devise actuelle de l'université, adoptée en 2002, est la suivante : « Former les femmes à réfléchir profondément, à vivre avec honneur, et à affronter les défis intellectuels et sociaux de leur époque. » En 2015, l'université a adopté un nouveau programme "SUMMIT" qui est censé préparer les étudiantes à devenir des citoyennes du monde. Namnbytet till Agnes Scott Institute skedde året därpå och det nuvarande namnet Agnes Scott College togs i bruk år 1906. Agnes Scott var mor till överste som var skolans främsta välgörare vid tidpunkten av grundandet. Höstterminen 2004 hade Agnes Scott College för första gången över 1 000 studenter. Bland alumner finns den första kvinnliga presbyterianprästen i USA och den första kvinnliga chefsdomaren i South Carolinas högsta domstol. Även Floridapolitikern har studerat vid Agnes Scott College. Agnes Scott College har ofta förekommit på film, bland annat som inspelningsplats för Why Did I Get Married?, Road Trip: Beer Pong, The Blind Side och Big Mommas: Sådan far, sådan son.
