Derrick Woods, Criminal Justice Consultant

Derrick Woods, Criminal Justice Consultant, joined CTAS in February 2023. He served over 32 years with the Cocke County Sheriff’s Office, reaching chief deputy, and worked with Tennessee Highway Safety, collaborating with law enforcement statewide. A three-time Officer of the Year and recipient of the 2019 Distinguished Service Award, he has been a certified police instructor since 1997, training thousands of public safety professionals. Derrick is a graduate of the University of Tennessee National Forensic Academy and holds a B.S. from Liberty University.
