This is an R data package that includes most “hex” font files fromtheGNU Unifontproject compressed byxz. It includes a conveniencefunction that loads several of them as a{bittermelon}bm_font() object. GNU Unifont is a duospaced bitmap font(8x16 and 16x16 glyphs) that pretty much covers all of the officialUnicode glyphs plus several of the artificial scripts in the(Under-)ConScript UnicodeRegistry.
{hexfont} includes most of the hex font files includedin theGNUUnifont source code distribution. The version number is strippedfrom the file names in theprecompiled directory and thehex fonts are all compressed byxz but other than that thehex fonts are otherwise unchanged. Due to CRAN size limitations we omitthe “precompiled”unifont_all hex file (this is presumablythe concatenation of the “precompiled”unifont andunifont_upper hex files).
