Sins Requiring a Sin Offering
(Leviticus 4:1-35)
1And if a soulsin,and hearthe voiceof swearing,and [is] a witness,whetherhe hath seenor known[of it]; if he do not utter[it], then he shall bearhis iniquity.2Or if a soultouchany uncleanthing,whether [it be] a carcaseof an uncleanbeast,or a carcaseof uncleancattle,or the carcaseof uncleancreeping things,and [if] it be hiddenfrom him; he also shall be unclean,and guilty.3Or if he touchthe uncleannessof man,whatsoever uncleanness[it be] that a man shall be defiledwithal, and it be hidfrom him; when he knoweth[of it], then he shall be guilty.4Or if a soulswear,pronouncingwith [his] lipsto do evil,or to do good,whatsoever [it be] that a manshall pronouncewith an oath,and it be hidfrom him; when he knoweth[of it], then he shall be guiltyin oneof these.5And it shall be, when he shall be guiltyin oneof these [things], that he shall confessthat he hath sinnedin that [thing]:6And he shall bringhis trespass offeringunto the LORDfor his sinwhich he hath sinned,a femalefrom the flock,a lambor a kidof the goats,for a sin offering;and the priestshall make an atonementfor him concerning his sin.
7And if hebe not ableto bringa lamb,then he shall bringforhis trespass,which he hath committed,twoturtledoves,or twoyoungpigeons,unto the LORD;onefor a sin offering,and the otherfor a burnt offering.8And he shall bringthem unto the priest,who shall offer[that] which [is] for the sin offeringfirst,and wring offhis headfromhis neck,but shall not divide [it] asunder:9And he shall sprinkleof the bloodof the sin offeringupon the sideof the altar;and the restof the bloodshall be wrung outat the bottomof the altar:it [is] a sin offering.10And he shall offerthe second[for] a burnt offering,according to the manner:and the priestshall make an atonementfor him for his sinwhich he hath sinned,and it shall be forgivenhim.
11But if hebe not able to bringtwoturtledoves,or twoyoungpigeons,then he that sinnedshall bringfor his offeringthe tenthpart of an ephahof fine flourfor a sin offering;he shall putno oilupon it, neither shall he put[any] frankincensethereon: for it [is] a sin offering.12Then shall he bringit to the priest,and the priestshall takehis handfulof it, [even] a memorialthereof, and burn[it] on the altar,according to the offerings made by fireunto the LORD:it [is] a sin offering.13And the priestshall make an atonementfor him as touching his sinthat he hath sinnedin oneof these, and it shall be forgivenhim: and [the remnant] shall be the priest's,as a meat offering.
Laws for Guilt Offerings
(Leviticus 6:1-7;Leviticus 7:1-10)
14And the LORDspakeunto Moses,saying,15If a soulcommita trespass,and sinthrough ignorance,in the holy thingsof the LORD;then he shall bringfor his trespassunto the LORDa ramwithout blemishout of the flocks,with thy estimationby shekelsof silver,after the shekelof the sanctuary,for a trespass offering:16And he shall make amendsfor the harmthat he hath done in the holy thing,and shall addthe fifth partthereto, and giveit unto the priest:and the priestshall make an atonementfor him with the ramof the trespass offering,and it shall be forgivenhim.
17And if a soulsin,and commitanyof these things which are forbidden to be doneby the commandmentsof the LORD;though he wist[it] not, yet is he guilty,and shall bearhis iniquity.18And he shall bringa ramwithout blemishout of the flock,with thy estimation,for a trespass offering,unto the priest:and the priestshall make an atonementfor him concerning his ignorancewherein he erredand wist[it] not, and it shall be forgivenhim.19It [is] a trespass offering:he hath certainlytrespassedagainst the LORD.
