KJV + Strong's Abram and Lot Part Ways 1And Abramwent upout of Egypt,he, and his wife,and all that he had, and Lotwith him, into the south. 2And Abram[was] veryrichin cattle,in silver,and in gold.3And he wenton his journeysfrom the southeven to Bethel,unto the placewhere his tenthad beenat the beginning,between Betheland Hai;4Unto the placeof the altar,which he had madethere at the first:and there Abramcalledon the nameof the LORD.5And Lotalso, which wentwithAbram,had flocks,and herds,and tents.6And the landwas not able to bearthem, that they might dwelltogether:for their substancewas great,so that they couldnot dwelltogether.7And there was a strifebetween the herdmenof Abram'scattleand the herdmenof Lot'scattle:and the Canaaniteand the Perizzitedwelledthen in the land. 8And Abramsaidunto Lot,Let there benostrife,I pray thee, between me and thee, and between my herdmenand thy herdmen;for we[be] brethren.9[Is] not the whole landbefore thee?separate thyself,I pray thee, from me: if [thou wilt take] the left hand,then I will go to the right;or if [thou depart] to the right hand,then I will go to the left. Lot Pitches Toward Sodom 10And Lotlifted uphis eyes,and beheldall the plainof Jordan,that it [was] well wateredevery where, beforethe LORDdestroyedSodomand Gomorrah,[even] as the gardenof the LORD,like the landof Egypt,as thou comestunto Zoar.11Then Lotchosehim all the plainof Jordan;and Lotjourneyedeast:and they separated themselvesthe onefrom the other.12Abramdwelledin the landof Canaan,and Lotdwelledin the citiesof the plain,and pitched [his] tenttowardSodom.13But the menof Sodom[were] wickedand sinnersbefore the LORDexceedingly. God Renews the Promise to Abram 14And the LORDsaidunto Abram,afterthat Lotwas separatedfrom him, Lift upnow thine eyes,and lookfrom the placewhere thou art northward,and southward,and eastward,and westward:15For all the landwhich thou seest,to thee will I give it,and to thy seedforever.16And I will makethy seedas the dustof the earth:so thatif a mancannumberthe dustof the earth,[then] shall thy seedalso be numbered.17Arise,walkthrough the landin the lengthof it and in the breadthof it; for I will giveit unto thee.18Then Abramremoved [his] tent,and cameand dweltin the plainof Mamre,which [is] in Hebron,and builtthere an altarunto the LORD. |
