KJV + Strong's Moses at the Burning Bush 1Now Moseskeptthe flockof Jethrohis father in law,the priestof Midian:and he ledthe flockto the backsideof the desert,and cameto the mountainof God,[even] to Horeb.2And the angelof the LORDappearedunto him in a flameof fireout of the midstof a bush:and he looked,and, behold, the bushburnedwith fire,and the bush[was] not consumed.3And Mosessaid,I will now turn aside,and seethis greatsight,whythe bushis not burnt.4And when the LORDsawthat he turned asideto see,Godcalledunto him out of the midstof the bush,and said,Moses,Moses.And he said,Here [am] I.5And he said,Draw not nighhither:put offthy shoesfrom off thy feet,for the placewhereonthou standest[is] holyground.6Moreover he said,I [am] the Godof thy father,the Godof Abraham,the Godof Isaac,and the Godof Jacob.And Moseshidhis face;for he was afraidto lookupon God. 7And the LORDsaid,I have surelyseenthe afflictionof my peoplewhich [are] in Egypt,and have heardtheir cryby reasonof their taskmasters;for I knowtheir sorrows;8And I am come downto deliverthem out of the handof the Egyptians,and to bringthem up out of that landunto a goodlandand a large,unto a landflowingwith milkand honey;unto the placeof the Canaanites,and the Hittites,and the Amorites,and the Perizzites,and the Hivites,and the Jebusites.9Now therefore, behold, the cryof the childrenof Israelis comeunto me: and I have also seenthe oppressionwherewith the Egyptiansoppressthem. 10Comenow therefore, and I will sendthee unto Pharaoh,that thou mayest bring forthmy peoplethe childrenof Israelout of Egypt.11And Mosessaidunto God,Who [am] I, that I should gounto Pharaoh,and that I should bring forththe childrenof Israelout of Egypt?12And he said,Certainly I will be with thee; and this [shall be] a tokenunto thee, thatI have sentthee: When thou hast brought forththe peopleout of Egypt,ye shall serveGodupon this mountain. 13And Mosessaidunto God,Behold, [when] I comeunto the childrenof Israel,and shall sayunto them, The Godof your fathershath sentme unto you; and they shall sayto me, What [is] his name?what shall I sayunto them?14And Godsaidunto Moses,I AMTHAT I AM:and he said,Thus shalt thou sayunto the childrenof Israel,I AM hath sentme unto you.15And Godsaidmoreoverunto Moses,Thus shalt thou sayunto the childrenof Israel,The LORDGodof your fathers,the Godof Abraham,the Godof Isaac,and the Godof Jacob,hath sentme unto you: this [is] my namefor ever,and this [is] my memorialunto allgenerations.16Go,and gatherthe eldersof Israeltogether,and sayunto them, The LORDGodof your fathers,the Godof Abraham,of Isaac,and of Jacob,appearedunto me, saying,I have surelyvisitedyou, and [seen] that which is doneto you in Egypt:17And I have said,I will bringyou up out of the afflictionof Egyptunto the landof the Canaanites,and the Hittites,and the Amorites,and the Perizzites,and the Hivites,and the Jebusites,unto a landflowingwith milkand honey.18And they shall hearkento thy voice:and thou shalt come,thou and the eldersof Israel,unto the kingof Egypt,and ye shall sayunto him, The LORDGodof the Hebrewshath metwith us: and now let us go,we beseech thee, threedays'journeyinto the wilderness,that we may sacrificeto the LORDour God.19And I am surethat the kingof Egyptwill not letyou go,no, not by a mightyhand.20And I will stretch outmy hand,and smiteEgyptwith all my wonderswhich I will doin the midstthereof: and afterthat he will let you go.21And I will givethis peoplefavourin the sightof the Egyptians:and it shall come to pass, that, when ye go,ye shall not goempty:22But every womanshall borrowof her neighbour,and of her that sojournethin her house,jewelsof silver,and jewelsof gold,and raiment:and ye shall put[them] upon your sons,and upon your daughters;and ye shall spoilthe Egyptians. |
