1A greatsignappearedin heaven:a womanclothedwith the sun,and the moonunderher feet,and on her heada crownof twelvestars;2and she was with child;and she criedout, beingin laborand in painto give birth.
3Thenanothersignappearedin heaven:and behold,a greatreddragonhavingsevenheadsand tenhorns,and on his heads[were] sevendiadems.4And his tailswept awaya thirdof the starsof heavenand threwthem to the earth.And the dragonstoodbeforethe womanwho was aboutto givebirth,sothat whenshe gave birthhe might devourher child.
5And she gave birthto a son,a male[child], whois to ruleallthe nationswith a rodof iron;and her childwas caughtup to Godand to His throne.6Thenthe womanfledinto the wildernesswhereshe hada placepreparedby God,sothat thereshe would be nourishedfor one thousandtwo hundredand sixtydays.
7And there was warin heaven,Michaeland his angelswagingwarwith the dragon.The dragonand his angelswagedwar,8and they were not strong enough,and there was nolongera placefoundfor them in heaven.9And the greatdragonwas throwndown, the serpentof oldwho is calledthe deviland Satan,who deceivesthe wholeworld;he was throwndown to the earth,and his angelswere throwndown with him.10ThenI hearda loudvoicein heaven,saying,"Nowthe salvation,and the power,and the kingdomof our Godand the authorityof His Christhave come,for the accuserof our brethrenhas been throwndown, he who accusesthem beforeour Goddayand night.11"And they overcamehim becauseof the bloodof the Lamband becauseof the wordof their testimony,and they did not lovetheir lifeeven whenfaced with death.12"For thisreason,rejoice,O heavensand you who dwellin them. Woeto the earthand the sea,becausethe devilhas come downto you, havinggreatwrath,knowingthat he has[only] a shorttime."
13And whenthe dragonsawthat he was throwndown to the earth,he persecutedthe womanwhogave birthto the male[child].14But the twowingsof the greateaglewere givento the woman,sothat she could flyinto the wildernessto her place,whereshe was nourishedfor a timeand timesand halfa time,from the presenceof the serpent.15And the serpentpouredwaterlikea riverout of his mouthafterthe woman,sothat he might causeher to be swept away with the flood.16But the earthhelpedthe woman,and the earthopenedits mouthand drankup the riverwhichthe dragonpouredout of his mouth.17Sothe dragonwas enragedwith the woman,and went offto makewarwith the restof her children,who keepthe commandmentsof Godand holdto the testimonyof Jesus.
