Psalm 44
NASB 1995 + Strong's

O God,we have heardwith our ears,Our fathershave toldus The workthat You didin their days,In the daysof old.

You with Your own handdroveout the nations; Then You plantedthem; You afflictedthe peoples,Then You spreadthem abroad.

For by their own swordthey did not possessthe land,And their own armdid not savethem, But Your righthandand Your armand the lightof Your presence,For You favoredthem.

You are my King,O God;Commandvictoriesfor Jacob.

Through You we will pushbackour adversaries;Through Your namewe will trampledownthose who riseup against us.

For I will not trustin my bow,Norwill my swordsaveme.

But You have savedus from our adversaries,And You have putto shamethose who hateus.

In Godwe have boastedalldaylong, And we will givethanksto Your nameforever.Selah.

YetYou have rejected[us] and broughtus to dishonor,And do not goout with our armies.

You cause us to turnbackfrom the adversary; And those who hateus have takenspoilfor themselves.

You giveus as sheepto be eatenAnd have scatteredus among the nations.

You sellYour peoplecheaply,And have not profitedby their sale.

You makeus a reproachto our neighbors,A scoffingand a derisionto those aroundus.

You makeus a bywordamong the nations,A laughingstockamong the peoples.

Alldaylong my dishonoris beforeme And my humiliationhas overwhelmedme,

Becauseof the voiceof him who reproachesand reviles,Becauseof the presenceof the enemyand the avenger.

Allthishas comeupon us, but we have not forgottenYou, And we have not dealtfalselywith Your covenant.

Our hearthas not turnedback,And our stepshave not deviatedfrom Your way,

YetYou have crushedus in a placeof jackalsAnd coveredus with the shadowof death.

Ifwe had forgottenthe nameof our GodOr extendedour handsto a strangegod,

Would not Godfindthisout? For He knowsthe secretsof the heart.

But for Your sakewe are killedalldaylong; We are consideredas sheepto be slaughtered.

ArouseYourself, whydo You sleep,O Lord?Awake,do not rejectus forever.

Whydo You hideYour face[And] forgetour afflictionand our oppression?

For our soulhas sunkdowninto the dust; Our bodycleavesto the earth.

Riseup, be our help,And redeemus for the sakeof Your lovingkindness.
