1"Then bringnearto yourself Aaronyour brother,and his sonswith him, from amongthe sonsof Israel,to ministeras priestto Me-- Aaron,Nadaband Abihu,Eleazarand Ithamar,Aaron'ssons.2"You shall makeholygarmentsfor Aaronyour brother,for gloryand for beauty.3"You shall speakto allthe skillfulpersonswhomI have endowedwith the spiritof wisdom,that they makeAaron'sgarmentsto consecratehim, that he may ministeras priestto Me.4"Theseare the garmentswhichthey shall make:a breastpieceand an ephodand a robeand a tunicof checkeredwork,a turbanand a sash,and they shall makeholygarmentsfor Aaronyour brotherand his sons,that he may ministeras priestto Me.5"They shall takethe goldand the blueand the purpleand the scarlet[material] and the finelinen.
6"They shall also makethe ephodof gold,of blueand purple[and] scarlet[material] and finetwistedlinen,the workof the skillfulworkman.7"It shall havetwoshoulderpieces joinedto its twoends,that it may be joined.8"The skillfullywovenband,whichis on it, shall be like its workmanship,of the samematerial: of gold,of blueand purpleand scarlet[material] and finetwistedlinen.9"You shall taketwoonyxstonesand engraveon them the namesof the sonsof Israel,10sixof their nameson the onestoneand the namesof the remainingsixon the otherstone,according to their birth.11"As a jewelerengravesa signet,you shall engravethe twostonesaccordingto the namesof the sonsof Israel;you shall setthem in filigree[settings] of gold.12"You shall putthe twostoneson the shoulderpieces of the ephod,[as] stonesof memorialfor the sonsof Israel,and Aaronshall beartheir namesbeforethe LORDon his twoshouldersfor a memorial.13"You shall makefiligree[settings] of gold,14and twochainsof puregold;you shall makethem of twistedcordagework,and you shall putthe cordedchainson the filigree[settings].
15"You shall makea breastpieceof judgment,the workof a skillfulworkman;like the workof the ephodyou shall makeit: of gold,of blueand purpleand scarlet[material] and finetwistedlinenyou shall makeit.16"It shall be square[and] foldeddouble,a spanin lengthand a spanin width.17"You shall mounton it fourrowsof stones;the firstrow[shall be] a rowof ruby,topazand emerald;18and the secondrowa turquoise,a sapphireand a diamond;19and the thirdrowa jacinth,an agateand an amethyst;20and the fourthrowa beryland an onyxand a jasper;they shall be setin goldfiligree.21"The stonesshall be accordingto the namesof the sonsof Israel:twelve,accordingto their names;they shall be [like] the engravingsof a seal,eachaccordingto his namefor the twelvetribes.22"You shall makeon the breastpiecechainsof twistedcordageworkin puregold.23"You shall makeon the breastpiecetworingsof gold,and shall putthe tworingson the twoendsof the breastpiece.24"You shall putthe twocordsof goldon the tworingsat the endsof the breastpiece.25"You shall putthe [other] twoendsof the twocordson the twofiligree[settings], and putthem on the shoulderpieces of the ephod,at the frontof it.26"You shall maketworingsof goldand shall placethem on the twoendsof the breastpiece,on the edgeof it, whichis towardthe innersideof the ephod.27"You shall maketworingsof goldand putthem on the bottomof the twoshoulderpieces of the ephod,on the frontof it closeto the placewhereit is joined,abovethe skillfullywovenbandof the ephod.28"They shall bindthe breastpieceby its ringsto the ringsof the ephodwith a bluecord,so that it will be on the skillfullywovenbandof the ephod,and that the breastpiecewill not comeloosefrom the ephod.29"Aaronshall carrythe namesof the sonsof Israelin the breastpieceof judgmentoverhis heartwhen he entersthe holyplace, for a memorialbeforethe LORDcontinually.30"You shall putin the breastpieceof judgmentthe Urimand the Thummim,and they shall be overAaron'sheartwhen he goesin beforethe LORD;and Aaronshall carrythe judgmentof the sonsof Israeloverhis heartbeforethe LORDcontinually.
31"You shall makethe robeof the ephodallof blue.32"There shall be an openingat its topin the middleof it; aroundits openingthere shall be a bindingof wovenwork,like the openingof a coatof mail,so that it will not be torn.33"You shall makeon its hempomegranatesof blueand purpleand scarlet[material], allaroundon its hem,and bellsof goldbetweenthem allaround:34a goldenbelland a pomegranate,a goldenbelland a pomegranate,allaroundon the hemof the robe.35"It shall be on Aaronwhen he ministers;and its tinklingshall be heardwhen he entersand leavesthe holyplace beforethe LORD,so that he will not die.
36"You shall also makea plateof puregoldand shall engraveon it, like the engravingsof a seal,Holyto the LORD.'37"You shall fastenit on a bluecord,and it shall be on the turban;it shall be at the frontof the turban.38"It shall be on Aaron'sforehead,and Aaronshall takeaway the iniquityof the holythingswhichthe sonsof Israelconsecrate,with regard to alltheir holygifts;and it shall alwaysbe on his forehead,that they may be acceptedbeforethe LORD.
39"You shall weavethe tunicof checkeredworkof finelinen,and shall makea turbanof finelinen,and you shall makea sash,the workof a weaver.
40"For Aaron'ssonsyou shall maketunics;you shall also makesashesfor them, and you shall makecapsfor them, for gloryand for beauty.41"You shall putthem on Aaronyour brotherand on his sonswith him; and you shall anointthem and ordainthem and consecratethem, that they may serveMe as priests.42"You shall makefor them linenbreechesto cover[their] bareflesh;they shall reachfrom the loinseven to the thighs.43"They shall be on Aaronand on his sonswhen they enterthe tentof meeting,orwhen they approachthe altarto ministerin the holyplace, so that they do not incurguiltand die.It [shall be] a statuteforeverto him and to his descendantsafterhim.
