1Nowconcerningthe collectionfor the saints,as I directedthe churchesof Galatia,sodoyou also.2On the firstday of everyweekeach oneof you is to putasideand save,as he may prosper,sothat nocollectionsbe madewhenI come.3WhenI arrive,whomeveryou may approve,I will sendthem with lettersto carryyour giftto Jerusalem;4and ifit is fittingfor me to goalso,they will gowith me.
5But I will cometo you afterI gothroughMacedonia,for I am going throughMacedonia;6and perhapsI will staywith you, orevenspend the winter,sothat you may send me on my waywhereverI may go.7For I do not wishto seeyou now[just] in passing;for I hopeto remainwith you for sometime,ifthe Lordpermits.8But I will remainin EphesusuntilPentecost;9for a widedoorfor effective[service] has openedto me, and there are manyadversaries.
10NowifTimothycomes,seethat he is with you without cause to be afraid,for he is doingthe Lord'swork,as I alsoam.11Solet noonedespisehim. But send him on his wayin peace,sothat he may cometo me; for I expecthim with the brethren.
12But concerningApollosour brother,I encouragedhim greatlyto cometo you with the brethren;and it was not at all[his] desireto comenow,but he will comewhenhe has opportunity.
13Be on the alert,stand firmin the faith,act like men,be strong.14Let allthat you do be donein love.
15NowI urgeyou, brethren(you knowthe householdof Stephanas,that they were the first fruitsof Achaia,and that they have devotedthemselvesfor ministryto the saints),16that you alsobe in subjectionto such menand to everyonewho helps in the workand labors.17I rejoiceoverthe comingof Stephanasand Fortunatusand Achaicus,becausethey have suppliedwhat was lackingon your part.18For they have refreshedmy spiritand yours.Thereforeacknowledgesuch men.
19The churchesof Asiagreetyou. Aquilaand Priscagreetyou heartilyin the Lord,with the churchthat is in their house.20Allthe brethrengreetyou. Greetone anotherwith a holykiss.
