Praise to the Almighty Creator
1Rejoicein the LORD,O ye righteous:[for] praiseis comelyfor the upright.
2Praisethe LORDwith harp:singunto him with the psaltery[and] an instrument of ten strings.
3Singunto him a newsong;playskilfullywith a loud noise.
4For the wordof the LORD[is] right;and all his works[are done] in truth.
5He lovethrighteousnessand judgment:the earthis fullof the goodnessof the LORD.
6By the wordof the LORDwere the heavensmade;and all the hostof them by the breathof his mouth.
7He gathereththe watersof the seatogether as an heap:he layeth upthe depthin storehouses.
8Let all the earthfearthe LORD:let all the inhabitantsof the worldstand in aweof him.
9For he spake,and it was [done]; he commanded,and it stood fast.
10The LORDbringeththe counselof the heathento nought:he makeththe devicesof the peopleof none effect.
11The counselof the LORDstandethfor ever,the thoughtsof his heartto allgenerations.
12Blessed[is] the nationwhose God[is] the LORD;[and] the people[whom] he hath chosenfor his own inheritance.
13The LORDlookethfrom heaven;he beholdethall the sonsof men.
14From the placeof his habitationhe lookethupon all the inhabitantsof the earth.
15He fashioneththeir heartsalike;he considerethall their works.
16There is no kingsavedby the multitudeof an host:a mighty manis not deliveredby muchstrength.
17An horse[is] a vain thingfor safety:neither shall he deliver[any] by his greatstrength.
18Behold, the eyeof the LORD[is] upon them that fearhim, upon them that hopein his mercy;
19To delivertheir soulfrom death,and to keep them alivein famine.
20Our soulwaitethfor the LORD:he [is] our helpand our shield.
21For our heartshall rejoicein him, because we have trustedin his holyname.
22Let thy mercy,O LORD,be upon us, according as we hopein thee.
