(Matthew 15:1-9) 1Thencame togetheruntohimthe Pharisees,andcertainof the scribes,which camefromJerusalem.2Andwhen they sawsomeof hisdiscipleseatbreadwith defiled,that is to say,with unwashen,hands,they found fault.3Forthe Pharisees,andallthe Jews,exceptthey wash[their] handsoft,eatnot,holdingthe traditionof the elders.4And[when they come] fromthe market,exceptthey wash,they eatnot.Andmanyother thingsthere be,whichthey have receivedto hold,[as] the washingof cups,andpots,brasen vessels,andof tables.5Thenthe Phariseesandscribesaskedhim,Whywalknotthydisciplesaccordingto the traditionof the elders,buteatbreadwith unwashenhands? 6He answeredandsaidunto them,Wellhath Esaiasprophesiedofyouhypocrites,asit is written,Thispeoplehonourethmewith [their] lips,buttheirheartisfarfromme. 7Howbeitin vaindo they worshipme,teaching[for] doctrinesthe commandmentsof men. 8Forlaying asidethe commandmentof God,ye holdthe traditionof men,[as] the washingof potsandcups:andmanyothersuchlike thingsye do. 9Andhe saidunto them,Full wellye rejectthe commandmentof God,thatye may keepyour owntradition.10ForMosessaid,Honourthyfatherandthymother;and,Whoso cursethfatherormother,let him diethe death:11Butyesay,Ifa manshall sayto his fatherormother,[It is] Corban,that is to say,a gift,bywhatsoeverthou mightest be profited byme;[he shall be free].12Andye sufferhimno moreto dooughtfor hisfatherorhismother;13Makingthe wordof Godof none effectthrough yourtradition,whichye have delivered:andmanysuchlike thingsdo ye.
