(Matthew 8:28-34;Luke 8:26-39) 1Andthey came overuntothe other sideof the sea,intothe countryof the Gadarenes.2Andwhen hewas comeout ofthe ship,immediatelythere methimout ofthe tombsa manwithan uncleanspirit,3Whohad[his] dwellingamongthe tombs;andno mancouldbindhim,no, notwith chains:4Becausethat hehad been oftenboundwith fettersandchains,andthe chainshad been plucked asunderbyhim,andthe fettersbroken in pieces:neithercouldany [man] tamehim.5Andalways,nightandday,he wasinthe mountains,andinthe tombs,crying,andcuttinghimselfwith stones.6Butwhen he sawJesusafar off,he ranandworshippedhim,7Andcriedwith a loudvoice,and said,Whathave Ito dowith thee,Jesus,[thou] Sonof the most highGod?I adjuretheeby God,that thou tormentmenot.8Forhe saidunto him,Comeout ofthe man,[thou] uncleanspirit.9Andhe askedhim,What[is] thyname?Andhe answered,saying,Myname[is] Legion:forwe aremany.10Andhe besoughthimmuchthathe wouldnotsendthemawayout ofthe country.11Nowthere wastherenighunto the mountainsa greatherdof swinefeeding.12Andallthe devilsbesoughthim,saying,Sendusintothe swine,thatwe may enterintothem.13AndforthwithJesusgavethemleave.Andthe uncleanspiritswent out,and enteredintothe swine:andthe herdranviolently downa steep placeintothe sea,(they wereabouttwo thousand;) andwere chokedinthe sea. 14Andthey that fedthe swinefled,andtold[it] inthe city,andinthe country.Andthey went outto seewhatit wasthat was done.15Andthey cometoJesus,andseehim that was possessed with the devil,and hadthe legion,sitting,andclothed,andin his right mind:andthey were afraid.16Andthey that saw[it] toldthemhowit befellto him that was possessed with the devil,and[also] concerningthe swine.17Andthey beganto prayhimto departout oftheircoasts.18Andwhen hewas comeintothe ship,he that had been possessed with the devilprayedhimthathe might bewithhim.19HowbeitJesussufferedhimnot,butsaithunto him,Gohometothy friends,andtellthemhow great thingsthe Lordhath donefor thee,andhath had compassionon thee.20Andhe departed,andbeganto publishinDecapolishow great thingsJesushad donefor him:andall[men] did marvel. (Matthew 9:18-26;Luke 8:40-56) 21Andwhen Jesuswas passed overagainbyshipuntothe other side,muchpeoplegathereduntohim:andhe wasnighunto the sea.22And,behold,there comethoneof the rulers of the synagogue,Jairusby name;andwhen he sawhim,he fellathisfeet,23Andbesoughthimgreatly,saying,Mylittle daughterliethat the point of death:[I pray thee], comeandlaythy handson her,thatshe may be healed;andshe shall live.24And[Jesus] wentwithhim;andmuchpeoplefollowedhim,andthrongedhim. 25Anda certainwoman,which had anissueof bloodtwelveyears,26Andhad sufferedmany thingsofmanyphysicians,andhad spentallthat shehad,andwasnothingbettered,butrathergrewworse,27When she had heardofJesus,cameinthe pressbehind,and touchedhisgarment.28Forshe said,IfI may touchbuthisclothes,I shall be whole.29Andstraightwaythe fountainof herbloodwas dried up;andshe feltin [her] bodythatshe was healedofthat plague.30AndJesus,immediatelyknowinginhimselfthat virtuehad goneout ofhim,turned him aboutinthe press,and said,Whotouchedmyclothes?31Andhisdisciplessaidunto him,Thou seestthe multitudethrongingthee,andsayest thou,Whotouchedme?32Andhe looked round aboutto seeher that had donethis thing.33Butthe womanfearingandtrembling,knowingwhatwas doneinher,cameandfell down beforehim,andtoldhimallthe truth.34Andhe saidunto her,Daughter,thyfaithhath madetheewhole;goinpeace,andbewholeofthyplague. 35Whileheyetspake,there camefromthe ruler of the synagogue's[house certain] which said,Thydaughteris dead:whytroublest thouthe Masterany further?36As soon asJesusheardthe wordthat was spoken,he saithunto the ruler of the synagogue,Benotafraid{5737}, onlybelieve.37Andhe sufferedno manto followhim,savePeter,andJames,andJohnthe brotherof James.38Andhe comethtothe houseof the ruler of the synagogue,andseeththe tumult,and them that weptandwailedgreatly.39Andwhen he was come in,he saithunto them,Whymake ye this ado,andweep?the damselisnotdead,butsleepeth.40Andthey laughedhimto scorn.Butwhen he had putthem allout,he takeththe fatherandthe motherof the damsel,andthem that were withhim,andentereth inwherethe damselwaslying.41Andhe tookthe damselby the hand,and saidunto her,Talithacumi;whichis,being interpreted,Damsel,I sayunto thee,arise.42Andstraightwaythe damselarose,andwalked;forshe was[of the age] of twelveyears.Andthey were astonishedwith a greatastonishment.43Andhe chargedthemstraitlythatno manshould knowit;andcommandedthat something should be givenherto eat. |
