Jesus Sends Out the Seventy-Two
1<1161> Afterthese thingsthe Lordappointedotherseventyalso,andsentthemtwoand twobeforehisfaceintoeverycityandplace,whitherhe himselfwouldcome.2Thereforesaid heuntothem,The harvesttruly[is] great,butthe labourers[are] few:pray yethereforethe Lordof the harvest,thathe would send forthlabourersintohisharvest.3Go your ways:behold,Isendyouforthaslambsamongwolves.4Carryneitherpurse,norscrip,norshoes:andsaluteno manbythe way.5Andintowhatsoeverhouseye enter,firstsay,Peace[be] to thishouse.6Andifthe sonof peacebethere,yourpeaceshall restuponit:if not,it shall turntoyouagain.7Andinthe samehouseremain,eatinganddrinkingsuch things astheygive:forthe labourerisworthyof hishire.Gonotfromhousetohouse.8Andintowhatsoevercityye enter,andthey receiveyou,eat such thingsas are set beforeyou:9Andhealthe sickthat are therein,andsayunto them,The kingdomof Godis come nighuntoyou.10Butintowhatsoevercityye enter,andthey receiveyounot,go your ways outintothe streetsof the same,and say,11Eventhe very dustofyourcity,whichcleavethon us,we do wipe offagainst you:notwithstandingbe ye sureof this,thatthe kingdomof Godis come nighuntoyou.12ButI sayunto you,thatit shall bemore tolerableinthatdayfor Sodom,thanfor thatcity.
Woe to the Unrepentant

13Woeunto thee,Chorazin!woeunto thee,Bethsaida!forifthe mighty workshad been doneinTyreandSidon,whichhave been doneinyou,they hada great while agorepented,sittinginsackclothandashes.14Butit shall bemore tolerablefor TyreandSidonatthe judgment,thanfor you.15Andthou,Capernaum,whichart exaltedtoheaven,shalt be thrust downtohell.
16He that hearethyouhearethme;andhe that despisethyoudespisethme;andhe that despisethmedespisethhim that sentme.
The Seventy-Two Return with Joy
17Andthe seventyreturned againwithjoy,saying,Lord,eventhe devilsare subjectunto usthroughthyname.18Andhe saidunto them,I beheldSatanaslightningfallfromheaven.19Behold,I giveunto youpowerto treadonserpentsandscorpions,andoverallthe powerof the enemy:andnothingshallby any meanshurt{5625;91:5692} you.20Notwithstandinginthisrejoicenot,thatthe spiritsare subjectunto you;butratherrejoice,becauseyournamesare writteninheaven.
Jesus' Prayer of Thanksgiving

21InthathourJesusrejoiced inspirit,andsaid,I thankthee,O Father,Lordof heavenandearth,thatthou hast hidthese thingsfromthe wiseandprudent,andhast revealedthemunto babes:even so,Father;forsoit seemedgoodinthysight.22All thingsare deliveredto meofmyFather:andno manknowethwhothe Sonis,butthe Father;andwhothe Fatheris,butthe Son,and[he] to whomthe Sonwillreveal[him].
23Andhe turned himunto[his] disciples,and saidprivately,Blessed[are] the eyeswhichseethe things thatye see:24ForI tellyou,thatmanyprophetsandkingshave desiredto seethose things whichyesee,andhavenotseen[them]; andto hearthose things whichye hear,andhavenotheard[them].

30AndJesusansweringsaid,A certain[man]went downfromJerusalemtoJericho,andfell amongthieves,whichstrippedhimof his raiment,andwounded[him], and departed,leaving[him] half dead.31Andbychancethere came downa certainpriestthatway:andwhen he sawhim,he passed by on the other side.32Andlikewisea Levite,when he wasatthe place,cameandlooked[on him], and passed by on the other side.33Buta certainSamaritan,as he journeyed,camewherehe was:andwhen he sawhim,he had compassion[on him],34Andwentto [him], and bound uphiswounds,pouring inoilandwine,andsethimonhis ownbeast,and broughthimtoan inn,andtook careof him.35Andonthe morrowwhen he departed,he took outtwopence,and gave[them] to the host,andsaidunto him,Take careof him;andwhatsoeverthou spendest more,when Icome again,Iwill repaythee.36Whichnowof thesethree,thinkestthou,wasneighbourunto him that fellamongthe thieves?37Andhe said,He that shewedmercyonhim.ThensaidJesusunto him,Go,anddothoulikewise.
Martha and Mary
38Nowit came to pass,astheywent,thatheenteredintoa certainvillage:anda certainwomannamedMarthareceivedhimintoherhouse.39Andshehada sistercalledMary,whichalsosatatJesus'feet,and heardhisword.40ButMarthawas cumberedaboutmuchserving,andcame to him,and said,Lord,dostthounotcarethatmysisterhath leftmeto servealone?bidherthereforethatshe helpme.41AndJesusansweredand saidunto her,Martha,Martha,thou art carefulandtroubledaboutmany things:42Butone thingisneedful:andMaryhath chosenthat goodpart,whichshallnotbe taken awayfromher.
