(Genesis 3:1-7;Romans 5:12-21;2 Peter 3:1-9) 1And the LORDsaidunto Noah,Comethou and all thy houseinto the ark;for thee have I seenrighteousbefore mein thisgeneration.2Of every cleanbeastthou shalt taketo thee by sevens,the maleand his female:and of beaststhat [are] not cleanby two,the maleand his female.3Of fowlsalso of the airby sevens,the maleand the female;to keepseedaliveupon the faceof all the earth.4For yetsevendays,and I will cause it to rainupon the earthfortydaysand fortynights;and everyliving substancethat I have madewill I destroyfrom offthe faceof the earth.5And Noahdidaccording unto all that the LORDcommandedhim. The Floodwaters Arrive 6And Noah[was] sixhundredyearsoldwhen the floodof waterswas upon the earth.7And Noahwent in,and his sons,and his wife,and his sons'wiveswith him, into the ark,because ofthe watersof the flood.8Of cleanbeasts,and of beaststhat [are] not clean,and of fowls,and of every thing that creepethupon the earth,9There went intwoand twounto Noahinto the ark,the maleand the female,asGodhad commandedNoah.10And it came to pass after sevendays,that the watersof the floodwere upon the earth.11Inthe sixhundredthyearof Noah'slife,in the secondmonth,the seventeenthdayof the month,the samedaywere all the fountainsof the greatdeepbroken up,and the windowsof heavenwere opened.12And the rainwas upon the earthfortydaysand fortynights. 13In the selfsamedayenteredNoah,and Shem,and Ham,and Japheth,the sonsof Noah,and Noah'swife,and the threewivesof his sonswith them, into the ark;14They,and every beastafter his kind,and all the cattleafter their kind,and every creeping thingthat creepethupon the earthafter his kind,and every fowlafter his kind,every birdof every sort.15And they went inunto Noahinto the ark,twoand twoof all flesh,wherein[is] the breathof life.16And they that went in,went inmaleand femaleof all flesh,as Godhad commandedhim: and the LORDshut him in. The Duration of the Flood 17And the floodwas fortydaysupon the earth;and the watersincreased,and bare upthe ark,and it was lift upabove the earth.18And the watersprevailed,and were increasedgreatlyupon the earth;and the arkwentupon the faceof the waters.19And the watersprevailedexceedinglyupon the earth;and all the highhills,that [were] underthe whole heaven,were covered.20Fifteencubitsupwarddid the watersprevail;and the mountainswere covered.21And all fleshdiedthat movedupon the earth,both of fowl,and of cattle,and of beast,and of every creeping thingthat creepethupon the earth,and every man:22All in whose nostrils[was] the breathof life,of all that [was] in the dry[land], died.23And every living substancewas destroyedwhich was upon the faceof the ground,both man,and cattle,and the creeping things,and the fowlof the heaven;and they were destroyedfrom the earth:and Noahonlyremained[alive], and they that[were] with him in the ark.24And the watersprevailedupon the earthan hundredand fiftydays. |
