(John 3:16-21;Romans 5:6-11) 1And it came to pass afterthese things,that Goddid temptAbraham,and saidunto him, Abraham:and he said,Behold, [here] I [am].2And he said,Take nowthy son,thine only[son] Isaac,whom thou lovest,and get theeinto the landof Moriah;and offer himthere for a burnt offeringupon oneof the mountainswhich I will tellthee of.3And Abrahamrose up earlyin the morning,and saddledhis ass,and tooktwoof his young menwith him, and Isaachis son,and clavethe woodfor the burnt offering,and rose up,and wentunto the placeof which Godhad toldhim.4Then on the thirddayAbrahamlifted uphis eyes,and sawthe placeafar off.5And Abrahamsaidunto his young men,Abideye here with the ass;and I and the ladwill goyonderand worship,and come againto you.6And Abrahamtookthe woodof the burnt offering,and laid[it] upon Isaachis son;and he tookthe firein his hand,and a knife;and they wentbothof them together.7And Isaacspakeunto Abrahamhis father,and said,My father:and he said,Here [am] I, my son.And he said,Behold the fireand the wood:but where [is] the lambfor a burnt offering?8And Abrahamsaid,My son,Godwill providehimself a lambfor a burnt offering:so they wentboth of themtogether. 9And they cameto the placewhich Godhad toldhim of; and Abrahambuiltan altarthere, and laidthe woodin order,and boundIsaachis son,and laidhim on the altaruponthe wood.10And Abrahamstretched forthhis hand,and tookthe knifeto slayhis son. The Sacrifice Averted 11And the angelof the LORDcalledunto him out of heaven,and said,Abraham,Abraham:and he said,Here [am] I.12And he said,Laynot thine handuponthe lad,neither do thouany thingunto him: for nowI knowthat thou fearestGod,seeing thou hast notwithheldthy son,thine only[son] from me.13And Abrahamlifted uphis eyes,and looked,and behold behind[him] a ramcaughtin a thicketby his horns:and Abrahamwentand tookthe ram,and offered him upfor a burnt offeringin the steadof his son.14And Abrahamcalledthe nameof that placeJehovahjireh:asit is said[to] this day,In the mountof the LORDit shall be seen. 15And the angelof the LORDcalledunto Abrahamout of heaventhe second time,16And said,By myself have I sworn,saiththe LORD,for becausethou hast donethis thing,and hast notwithheldthy son,thine only[son]:17That in blessingI will blessthee, and in multiplyingI will multiplythy seedas the starsof the heaven,and as the sandwhich [is] upon the seashore;and thy seedshall possessthe gateof his enemies;18And in thy seedshall all the nationsof the earthbe blessed;becausethou hast obeyedmy voice.19So Abrahamreturnedunto his young men,and they rose upand wenttogetherto Beersheba;and Abrahamdweltat Beersheba. Nahor's Sons 20And it came to pass afterthese things,that it was toldAbraham,saying,Behold, Milcah,she hath also bornchildrenunto thy brotherNahor;21Huzhis firstborn,and Buzhis brother,and Kemuelthe fatherof Aram,22And Chesed,and Hazo,and Pildash,and Jidlaph,and Bethuel.23And BethuelbegatRebekah:these eightMilcahdid bearto Nahor,Abraham'sbrother.24And his concubine,whose name[was] Reumah,she barealso Tebah,and Gaham,and Thahash,and Maachah. |
