The Covenant Sealed
1And he saidunto Moses,Come upunto the LORD,thou, and Aaron,Nadab,and Abihu,and seventyof the eldersof Israel;and worshipye afar off.2And Mosesalone shall come nearthe LORD:but they shall not come nigh;neither shall the peoplego upwith him.
3And Mosescameand toldthe peopleall the wordsof the LORD,and all the judgments:and all the peopleansweredwith onevoice,and said,All the wordswhich the LORDhath saidwill we do.4And Moseswroteall the wordsof the LORD,and rose up earlyin the morning,and buildedan altarunder the hill,and twelve pillars,according to the twelvetribesof Israel.5And he sentyoung menof the childrenof Israel,which offeredburnt offerings,and sacrificedpeaceofferingsof oxenunto the LORD.6And Mosestookhalfof the blood,and put[it] in basons;and halfof the bloodhe sprinkledon the altar.7And he tookthe bookof the covenant,and readin the audienceof the people:and they said,All that the LORDhath saidwill we do,and be obedient.8And Mosestookthe blood,and sprinkled[it] on the people,and said,Behold the bloodof the covenant,which the LORDhath madewith you concerning all these words.
9Then went upMoses,and Aaron,Nadab,and Abihu,and seventyof the eldersof Israel:10And they sawthe Godof Israel:and [there was] under his feetas it were a pavedworkof a sapphire stone,and as it were the bodyof heavenin [his] clearness.11And upon the noblesof the childrenof Israelhe laidnot his hand:also they sawGod,and did eatand drink.
Moses on the Mountain
12And the LORDsaidunto Moses,Come upto me into the mount,and be there: and I will givethee tablesof stone,and a law,and commandmentswhich I have written;that thou mayest teachthem.13And Mosesrose up,and his ministerJoshua:and Moseswent upinto the mountof God.14And he saidunto the elders,Tarryye herefor us, until we come againunto you: and, behold, Aaronand Hur[are] with you: if anymanhave any mattersto do,let him comeunto them.15And Moseswent upinto the mount,and a cloudcoveredthe mount.16And the gloryof the LORDabodeupon mountSinai,and the cloudcoveredit sixdays:and the seventhdayhe calledunto Mosesout of the midstof the cloud.17And the sightof the gloryof the LORD[was] like devouringfireon the topof the mountin the eyesof the childrenof Israel.18And Moseswentinto the midstof the cloud,and gat him upinto the mount:and Moseswas in the mountfortydaysand fortynights.
