Do Not Judge Your Brother
(Matthew 7:1-6;Luke 6:37-42)
1Him that is weakin the faithreceive ye,[but]nottodoubtfuldisputations.2Foronebelieveththat he may eatall things:another,who is weak,eatethherbs.3Letnothim that eatethdespisehim that eatethnot;andletnothim which eatethnotjudgehim that eateth:forGodhath receivedhim.4Whoartthouthat judgestanother man'sservant?to his ownmasterhe standethorfalleth.Yea,he shall be holden up:forGodisableto makehimstand.
5Onemanesteemethone dayaboveanother:anotheresteemetheveryday[alike]. Letevery manbe fully persuadedinhis ownmind.6He that regardeththe day,regardeth[it] unto the Lord;andhe that regardethnotthe day,to the Lordhe dothnotregard[it]. He that eateth,eatethto the Lord,forhe giveth Godthanks;andhe that eatethnot,to the Lordhe eatethnot,andgiveth Godthanks.7Fornoneof uslivethto himself,andno mandiethto himself.8Forwhetherwe live,we liveunto the Lord;and whetherwe die,we dieunto the Lord:whetherwe livetherefore,ordie,we arethe Lord's.9Fortothisend Christbothdied,androse,andrevived,thathe might be Lordbothof the deadandliving.
10Butwhydostthoujudgethybrother?orwhydostthouset at noughtthybrother?forwe shallallstand beforethe judgment seatof Christ.
11Forit is written,[As] Ilive,saiththe Lord,everykneeshall bowto me,andeverytongueshall confessto God.
12Sothenevery oneof usshall giveaccountofhimselfto God.
Do Not Cause Your Brother to Stumble
(Ezekiel 14:1-11;1 Corinthians 8:1-13)
13Let usnot thereforejudgeone anotherany more:butjudgethisrather,that no manputa stumblingblockoran occasion to fallin [his] brother's way.14I know,andam persuadedbythe LordJesus,that[there is] nothinguncleanofitself:butto him that esteemethany thingto beunclean,to him[it is] unclean.15Butifthybrotherbe grievedwith[thy] meat,nowwalkest thounotcharitably.Destroynothimwith thymeat,forwhomChristdied.16Letnotthenyourgoodbe evil spoken of:17Forthe kingdomof Godisnotmeatanddrink;butrighteousness,andpeace,andjoyinthe HolyGhost.18Forhe that inthese thingsservethChrist[is] acceptableto God,andapprovedof men.19Let usthereforefollow afterthe things which make forpeace,andthings wherewithonemay edifyanother.20Formeatdestroynotthe workof God.All thingsindeed[are] pure;but[it is] evilfor that manwho eatethwithoffence.21[It is] goodneitherto eatflesh,norto drinkwine,nor[any thing] wherebythybrotherstumbleth,oris offended,oris made weak.22Hastthoufaith?have[it] tothyselfbeforeGod.Happy[is] he that condemnethnothimselfinthat thing whichhe alloweth.23Andhe that doubtethis damnedifhe eat,because[he eateth] notoffaith:forwhatsoever[is] notoffaithissin.
