My Soul Takes Refuge in You
(1 Samuel 22:1-5;Psalm 142:1-7)
1{{To the chief Musician,Altaschith,Michtamof David,when he fledfromSaulin the cave.}} Be mercifulunto me, O God,be mercifulunto me: for my soultrustethin thee: yea, in the shadowof thy wingswill I make my refuge,until [these] calamitiesbe overpast.
2I will cryunto Godmost high;unto Godthat performeth[all things] for me.
3He shall sendfrom heaven,and saveme [from] the reproachof him that would swallow me up.Selah.Godshall send forthhis mercyand his truth.
4My soul[is] amonglions:[and] I lie[even among] them that are set on fire,[even] the sonsof men,whose teeth[are] spearsand arrows,and their tonguea sharpsword.
5Be thou exalted,O God,above the heavens;[let] thy glory[be] above all the earth.
6They have prepareda netfor my steps;my soulis bowed down:they have diggeda pitbeforeme, into the midstwhereof they are fallen[themselves]. Selah.
7My heartis fixed,O God,my heartis fixed:I will singand give praise.
8Awake up,my glory;awake,psalteryand harp:I [myself] will awakeearly.
9I will praisethee, O Lord,among the people:I will singunto thee among the nations.
10For thy mercy[is] greatunto the heavens,and thy truthunto the clouds.
11Be thou exalted,O God,above the heavens:[let] thy glory[be] above all the earth.
