The Feeding of the Four Thousand

1Inthosedaysthe multitudebeingvery great,andhavingnothingto eat,Jesuscalledhisdisciples[unto him], and saithunto them,2I have compassiononthe multitude,becausethey havenowbeenwith methreedays,andhavenothingto eat:3AndifI sendthemawayfastingtotheir ownhouses,they will faintbythe way:fordiversof themcamefrom far.4Andhisdisciplesansweredhim,From whencecana mansatisfythese[men] with breadhereinthe wilderness?5Andhe askedthem,How manyloaveshave ye?Andthey said,Seven.6Andhe commandedthe peopleto sit downonthe ground:andhe tookthe sevenloaves,and gave thanks,and brake,andgaveto hisdisciplestoset before[them]; andthey did set [them] beforethe people.7Andthey hada fewsmall fishes:andhe blessed,and commandedto setthemalsobefore[them].8Sothey did eat,andwere filled:andthey took upof the broken[meat] that was leftsevenbaskets.9Andthey that had eatenwereaboutfour thousand:andhe sentthemaway.10Andstraightwayhe enteredintoa shipwithhisdisciples,and cameintothe partsof Dalmanutha.
The Pharisees Seek a Sign
